We have taken a long-term contract to collect, sort and treat waste generated by the city’s residents and businesses, as well as from local farms. But that’s not all. We’ve also started an ambitious project to clear and regenerate the old municipal dump site – over 25 acres and containing decades of waste. When we’re finished, we’ll construct modern waste sorting and treatment facilities on the site. These will enable the composting of organic waste, the collection of recyclables and the extraction of energy from non-recyclable waste in order to power the city. A cleaner, greener solution fit for the future.
